MESSAGE FROM THE ADMINSTRATOR
Welcome to the Hawaii Vocational Rehabilitation and Services for the Blind Division. We want to provide persons with disabilities the opportunity to realize their life-long dreams and to become full and equal participants in their community. We offer a range of services to enable and facilitate the achievement of an individual's chosen vocational and independent living goals. Our goal is to empower persons with disabilities with the necessary confidence, training and resources which will lead toward high quality employment and maximum independence for that individual.
One of the major barriers to the employment and independent living of people with disabilities are the low expectations held by employers, the general public and people with disabilities themselves regarding their abilities and capabilities. For this reason, we are strongly committed to increasing public awareness, promoting positive attitudes and raising the bar of expectations held toward people with disabilities.
